2024 Kodiaq DCC issue

Featured Replies

Hi there,

Got my Kodiaq 2024 (new model) with the extra DCC package last week. After driving for a while, noticed that on uneven surfaces there is a noticable "knocking" sound from the suspension. It is better on 'comfort mode', but still very disturbing.

Initially my dealer did not have any information about this issue as it is a new model, but I called them again today and they stated that there is indeed an issue with the new suspension. However, they did not have any other information yet.

Does anyone else have this issue and do you have more information on the exact problem?

Does it seem to sit really high & feel really crashy? If so, it’s worth checking they haven’t left the transport blocks in place

What country are you in? UK dealers don't have any for test drives until the 20th June.

Now there's a lot of talks about this issue. All vag related models with dcc make clunking sound on un even road. No solution, maybe there won't be any...

Did you get any feedback from dealer?

At first, they were unaware of the issue since I was among the first to receive the car. However, within a week, they had heard of more complaints. The dealer told me that Skoda is committed to resolving the problem and mentioned that it might be addressed with a software update (?), though they couldn't provide any definitive answers yet.

Anyone else has any other feedback from their dealers?

Out of curiosity - is the DCC on the new model like the old one (i.e. 'comfort', 'normal' or 'sport' presets) or is it like on the Enyaq, where it's a slider with more stops for some semblance of fine tuning?

Under driving mode you can select between 5-6 different modes, but in the "Individual" mode you can fine tune the suspension comfort (there is a slider with a lot of options).

So, the same system as the Enyaq then. I would suggest - unfortunately - that it probably means some sort of mechanical issue, as I don't believe there has been a similar problem reported by Enyaq owners. Not sure a software update will fix any sort of mechanical issue.

I tested a 2.0 Diesel with 20 inch wheels and this knocking made me reconsider buying this year's Kodiak... Anybody has a reliable source of information on the issue, to read about it? Was it already addressed?

The same problem is with the Superb 4, the new Passat and Tiguan. For now, I don't know of any official solution to this problem.

This is an interesting one to follow.

Thinking about ordering a new Kodiaq, but not sure about the DCC. On paper it almost seems like a must have. But my fear is it’s prone to such problems. Curious about the fix.

Perhaps a reason to stick with normal suspension unless it’s too soft for my liking.

Like all these things - sounds good on paper... but then you find 'sport' is too harsh and 'comfort' is too soft and so you just leave it in 'normal'. Might be a bit different and useful in a proper sports car, but in a big family SUV I'm really not convinced it's worth it. Certainly wouldn't pay for it as an option.

After my test drive on 20' wheels, I want it only to have the capability to change the options and make the ride as comfort as possible 😀

Any news on the issues?

Will be placing my Kodiaq Sportline order next week. Only option I'm still a bit undecided about is the DCC. (EUR 950)

Some reviewers stating DCC makes the ride as a whole better, regardless of the setting. I was only able to test drive a non-DCC Kodiaq. Found the ride quality pretty good overall.
