Two annoying and unusual faults. Help appreciated.

Hello,

I have a 2023 registered Kamiq SE manual 1.0 with factory upgrade to the Amundsen infotainment system and a couple of exterior trim changes (larger alloys and ‘privacy glass’. I have owned it since new but it was the dealer’s showroom model as I needed it in a hurry following the colossal failure of my previous Golf (a long and painful story..!)

Anyway, my Kamiq has done less than 9,000 miles and I’ve been a very happy owner until last week when suddenly I got a ‘hill start assist’ warning with amber (I think) warning triangle symbol on the dash. The next day I noticed that the rear parking assist had stopped working - absolutely no life when I select reverse.

A week later and a few hundred miles and the problems still persist….

Obviously I can take it back to the dealer for a warranty fix but that would involve a 200 mile round trip plus likely a day off work. - Is there anything I can try myself? Is this a known problem? I’ve searched high and low but can’t find any answers.

Many thanks.

Best thing you can buy is an OBD code reader, Pretty cheap to buy.  I think (no completely sure) they can be switched off via the infotainment screen, Check there first, Might have switched them off.

Do you have Skoda Roadside Assistance in your country?    In the UK sometimes they can help, although if a part needs to be changed they'll usually want us to go to the dealer.

Your nearest Škoda main dealer is 200 miles away?

Take it to any Škoda main dealer……surely there’s one closer to you than 200 miles?

I’m afraid not! I’m the best part of 100 miles north of Glasgow. I guess I’ll have to take it in…

That covers a lot of territory; are you any nearer to Maud?

Victoria garage Maud is 180 miles by road from Glasgow.

@moomaloo Where are you actually?     Is going to Perth or Inverness out of the equation?

Best not put off have warranty work carried out.

When or where are you going to get the car serviced, or are you not having that done on a Fixed Service Regime or at an Approved Repairer / Main Dealership.

I’m in Argyll on the west coast south of Oban so there is nowhere nearer. Not that it matters much. I bought the car from Glasgow and have a service plan there. It’s just annoying because it seems to me like a glitchy issue that might be solved by a system reset or something like that. I initially thought it might be a fuse but I can’t see anything in the fuse layout that would account for it. I’ll phone Henrys tomorrow and resist the urge to fiddle…

The service plan is a Skoda and is it not and not just with Henry's?    Is the service plan not fixed / annual so at 1 year just and oil and filter service?

Oh - I was assuming you weren't in the UK!
