3 karoq - awaiting delivery what's the issue?

Featured Replies

Since it all went online I've not been offered a choice of registration no's

But as I always put my own plate on later I don't care.

Poor show about the delay though. I'd be sat at the dealers until I got answers.  But they are only down the road and I know most of the staff.

News just in - just had a call from the dealers - Their dealership garage is busy but they now have the go ahead to process the car. I asked again what the issue was - something around s/w for the gear box apparently!

Anyway they will get back to me for pick up a week today or next Monday depending on fitting it in.

Good, that should show as an Action on the vehicles history then for future reference.

Delivery miles on the vehicle, then PDI and Service Campaign / TPI actions before or during the PDI.

Lest we forget in the future, or Skoda UK do with their selective memories.

Latest from my dealer is: No resolution yet - gearbox software (not yet ready) needs to be finalised and tested - nothing expected to change until at least 26th June - no rental or loan car to be provided, however a £200 'goodwill' payment towards any rental I arrange myself will be given!

Anyone been offered / given anything better?

So I have my car now - nothing in way of compo from dealer or skoda - they said the original agreed date for delivery was 20 june anyway - oh well - anyway got car and dealer says it was all cars throughout range with DSG boxes and it was now also extended to SEATS as well - i think he mentioned Altcas specifically.

I will start a new thread on any differences i note from my older 21sports line - as i notice them!

I’m pleased for you Yosser65 having got your new car - I’m still getting the gaslight treatment from my dealer - no movement and no predicted resolution date - interestingly my dealer claims it’s only the 1.5 DSG Karoq that’s affected - I’m getting more and more dissatisfied with Skoda / my dealer of late, this latest problem is close to pushing me over the edge, after 3 new motors I’m tempted to tell ‘em the deal is off……

So, had a phone call this a.m. 'Can I pick up the motor today as Skoda have 'released' the cars?'.......hmmm salesman was unable to confirm that anything had actually been done to my Karoq - all very suspicious - and No I can't just drop everything to collect, I don't care how 'hectic' it is at the dealership, you'll just have to wait.

They need it in June's figures perhaps.

Make the wait until you are ready.

Morning all

As far as i am being told by local dealer the new registration stop issued by Skoda is for all models fitted with a DSG gearbox. It requires a software update  to remedy a fault found with the gearbox going into emergency limp home mode.

@johnnydp756Welcome.

'Every model with a DSG'.  Is that Karoq only with DSG?

2wd & AWD,  Dry Clutch & Wet Clutch.

 There are Skoda cars / models with a DQ200 7 Speed, a DQ200-e, same thing, PHEV,s with a DQ400-e & then DQ381,s.

Surely (Shirley)  not all Models & All DSG,s.

I am still waiting for my Karoq 1.5 TSI DSG to be registered (from June 3rd) When i did some digging and asking Skoda UK was informed that it was a software problem with the new 1.5 TSI & DQ200 gearbox. i'm only guessing that this combination applies to other Skoda models as my friend is also awaiting release of his 1.5 TSI DSG Octavia BUT for the purpose of this thread i will stick to the Karoq 1.5 TSI DSG

But that is examples of 1.5 TSI ACT,s with DQ200,s.  So that is a big guess to include other Models / DSG,s.

Yeah, sorry if my guess caused any confusion or alarm. Just going off what little information Skoda UK were able to tell me, even my dealership were in the dark until earlier this week when a fix magically appeared!. Admittedly the email i received from Skoda UK customer services was a bit vague and they did admit that they weren't very technical!! gist of it was that there is a software fault with 1.5 TSI and  DSG and my Karoq was in that group. Lets be honest Skoda aren't going to admit a problem or elaborate any further if it results in negative press are they?

The Skoda Secret Service and Servicing Campaign updates bite them on the bum.  As it is because of past lemons that have been handed over to customers that then require updates and inconvenience the customers they would be better being upfront and transparent when there are issues.   It is people's hard earned buying the cars or leasing and the Muppets try treating them like Mushrooms.    Keep in the dark and shovel with sh-!t.

Morning Berisford

Picked mine up on Friday from Marshall's Daybrook. Not a pleasant handover!! Still waiting for communications regarding "goodwill payment" £200. Nothing to do with dealer, Skoda UK. Everythings gone quiet. Several emails requesting feedback. Sorry Skoda, money first before i give my HONEST review. Let me know if you get anywhere and i will do same.

Collected mine yesterday - the £200 was mentioned as ‘being in the system’ and there being a ‘note on the file’ - I’ll let it ride for a few days before insisting on some tangible evidence that I have the credit.

I’m fairly happy with the purchase, appears to be the latest spec version and as bonus includes Varioflex rear seats.

I’ve not been far in it but first impressions are not great, it’s a bit jerky setting off and down changes under load are in your face too, not as smooth/seamless as my 15 year old Golf or indeed our Superb.

Also (though yet to investigate further) there’s no gear number indicator, D1 D2 etc., except in ‘manual’ mode,

And the speed warning thingy is a bit quirky. It seems to pick up all the changes in speed limits ok, even overhead gantry variables, but only ‘beeps’ if you creep over the limit - entering a lower limit at excess speed doesn’t trigger the audible warning, just the tiny speed rounded on the dash flashes?

Yes, same for me. I tend to put mine in sports mode at roundabouts and stop turn junctions. Bit more responsive. When i select eco the dash changes to "E"

Had a Mini countyman 2 ltr before and it was great. Dash would tell you D1, D2 etc and miles more responsive. Got Karoq because of more space and more comfortable, which it is but no where near as good a ride. Not a bad car so far just gotta get used to all the dash lights, icons and warnings!!

My late 23 1.5TSi DSG is not like that. One of the smoothest I've had and I've had 12. I get gear number indicator on nearly all of the Virtual Cockpit displays.

I’m thinking the rushed gearbox software update that caused the hold up might have been exactly that, rushed?

Not happy that for all its fancy ‘virtual cockpit’ it doesn’t tell me what gear I’m in….!
And the downshifts under load are well harsh - like a learner driver not correctly timing the clutch / power.

I'd report as soon as possible and ask for a test drive in an earlier model.

I'm on my 7th DQ200 DSG and have also had several DQ250's, a DQ381 and a DL501.  Not one could I have described as having harsh downshifts.

I was actually impressed how smoother the DSG is on the 1.5 Karoq when compared to our 1.0TSi Fabia.

Just checked and I have gear indicator on every display on virtual cockpit.

What I don't get is there has been no mechanical changes to MY24 as far as I'm aware just sensor suite and software changes for the July speed limit legislation.

Why the DSG software has been effected is a mystery.

To be clear. - I’m talking downshifts under load - that is such as climbing - changing down from 7 to 6 or 5 to maintain speed, I can’t tell as I don’t get the gear number displayed.

I have a sportline on order so interested in this thread - it may only seem like a small thing, but i really like to see D (gear number) so hoping this is some sort of glitch/resolved by time I get mine - interested to see if others with very new vehicles also have the no gear number issue - seems most odd

The latest Kamiq doesn’t show gear numbers in D or E only shows in Manual or Sport modes.

Interesting - it’s hard to imagine a reason why someone thought it necessary to write new software to remove the numbers……
