Intermittent windows controls + rear door not locking drivers side.

Featured Replies

I have just bought a Skoda Superb MkII

Its my first Skoda and I have only been driving it just a day.

The seller warned me it has an intermittent fault with the locking and window and wing mirror controls on the driver’s side.

Sometimes the windows open, sometimes they don’t, and the rear door does not lock.

I am making assumptions here, but I assume this is due to a driver’s door wiring loom issue

I believe that the wires in said loom break and require either a new loom or a repair.

Is there a guide on how to get into the required area to repair the frayed wiring at all on here.

I believe that the grommet is difficult to remove, and I don’t want to snap anything if I can avoid it

Also, if I solder the wiring back together am I going to get air bag lights etc illuminating or any other chaos.

Many thanks

Almost certainly YES!

Correct, but most people would at least strongly advise a new loom. I am one of "most people" in this context.

Thanks for the response

I did some looking around first to see if anyone else had the issue.

sounds like the loom is the problem, just thought if a single stray wire it may be an easy fix.

Do a search loads of threads on here about this.
