excessive fuel consumption

Featured Replies

I own a 2021 model octavia 1.0 e-tec. It consumes 8.2 liters of fuel per 100km in urban mixed use. It seemed like too much. Is it normal or is there a problem?

We don't have that engine option here, but it sounds a lot for a 1.0L. From what I've been able to find on this engine, Skoda is claiming 54.3mpg (5.2 L/100km). Manufacturers claimed figures are sometimes difficult to replicate in real life, nevertheless that's a fair gap. I suspect you'll get a more accurate picture from other 1.0 e-tec owners.

That seems low. I'm averaging about 42MPG in a 1,5 eTEc.

I can get between 620-660 miles out of a full tank on a long run. A bit more if I take it easy 😁

It does seem poor, the official WLTP low speed consumption is 6.4L/100. Have you done a longer journey that allows the engine to warm up and if what is consumption like then?

Where are you based? How long are your journeys? Average speeds?  Distance on odometer? When last serviced? Tyres checked and what pressures?

Try the spiritmonitor app, you will find a lot comparativ measures from other drivers of the same model.
I also drive octavia etec, and my car consume about 7,7 L urban, and 5,4 L on highway, cruise at 130km/h.
