A fuse blew, and now VCDS cannot connect to Module 03

Featured Replies

:) Hello !

Car: ( 2012 ) Skoda Octavia-2 FL  'SCOUT'    1.8 TSI

Car info:  6-speed manual gearbox and 4-motion ( Haldex-4 )

Yesterday Sunday morning the car was driven and everything worked as usual.
After about 3 hours I was going to leave again and then suddenly the instrument cluster was completely black and nothing in the instrument cluster worked.
Tried to start the engine, but it died immediately after about 2 seconds.
Tried a couple more times but each time the engine started and ran for about 2 seconds and then died.
( felt roughly like the immobilizer came into play. )
After looking at the fuses I found that fuse # 6 was blown.
( Has never happened before )
With a new fuse, the instrument cluster started working and the car could be started and worked  perfectly.

...Today when I did a fault code reading with VCDS to see which error codes were left,
I discovered that in Module-03 there were error codes,
but when I tried to delete them, VCDS could not communicate with that module....

I tried several times to delete the error codes but it is not possible
to delete the errors as VCDS replies that it cannot communicate with Modul-03

 What is going on and why can't VCDS communicate with Module-03 ?

FUSE # 6. ( 5 Ampere )
Instrument cluster, Control unit for automatic gearbox,
Control unit for electromechanical power steering, Parking aid, Haldex clutch.

There's probably another blown fuse, one associated with the ABS module.

I can probably tell you which are good candidates a bit later.

Check cabin fuse No. 2 (5 Amp), and under bonnet fuses No. 4 (20 Amp) and No. 25 (40 Amp).

Check cabin fuse:
No. 2 (5 Amp)
Check under bonnet fuses:
No. 4  (20 Amp)
No. 25 (40 Amp)

The # 2 cabin fuse was ok.

Are these the right ones under the bonnet ?
If yes, they are also ok.
