wipers have a mind of their own.

Featured Replies

This has been getting worse over owning the car the last 6 months.

Pulling the wiper stalk down. (1 wipe) - I get about 5-6 wipes... will eventually stop. -

Put stalk up  - Intermitant, - will wipe 5-6 times, pauses (for the intermittent function)  - then on the next cycle do the same.

up twice, works contantly as it should, but when putting stalk to off, will again take 5-6 times.

Does not always park in the correct position of the screen.

This is what is happening in a video.

Please can someone assist.

So far I have changed the relay - however the the one got shipped was faulty. Stalk was dead with the replacement wiper relay in.

Wondering what to do next?

Quick Update.

Got 3 more of these 377 relays went to a breaker today and I explained that I had a bad replacement so basically he handed me a handful of them. Changed the relay before I left the breakers and the stalk then stopped responding again, expect that when I fiddeled changing the wiper modes it would then operate but had the same problem as before.

Got home, plugged in another one - this seemed better stalk worked as it should but still got additional wipers but shut off sooner than it used it, sat there for another five minutes and it started working properly.

Turned engine on, - worked fine. - couldn't believe this - So then left it an hour.. Tried it again .. Still working

Left it 3 hours, - For the first minute it gave multiple wipes - then started working...

I am just now completed puzzled.  But this relayed seemed to be the best one so far..

I find it hard to believe that they could all be bad to some degree? Could it be the motor - or should I try buying a new 377 relay?

Advise is still appreciated.
