Brake pedal slight press works but once had to push my foot to the floor to stop the Car

Featured Replies

Hi all, I'm new to the forum. I would like some help please to see if anyone has had a similar issue to my wife. She has a 2010 Skoda Octavia 1.9TDi Automatic. She just told me today that when she was driving down the motorway and went to press on the brake pedal, the travel almost reached the floor and felt empty before the brakes kicked in. And then she tried again afterwards and there was more resistance which is a good sign but not at normal operating process. After 8 hours she tried it again and it went back to normal. Is this a brake master slave cylinder failing or a servo that needs replacing. Any help is appreciated. Many thanks all

Sounds like the brake master cylinder seals failing to me? Never had it on my Octavia but did have it on a 20 year old Renault 5!

Thanks chrisund123. I'll call the garage on Monday to get it confirmed and booked in for a replacement if it is the case
