please can someone confirm what is the red dot on one end of Meyle HD Drop Link for?

I was about to replace the old one but wondering if its to do with what end goes on top or bottom if this makes sense.

Don't think it's a top or bottom issue as these links are excatly the same, I had the same on a pair I bought for my MKII. I think it's a quality pass dot that confirms they have passed a final inspection before packing,
