Minimum Weight

Featured Replies

I know this is not Mk4 specific but looking at top spec L&K 4x4 petrol in the tech specs section of he brochure it says the minimum weight is 1661kg - 1824kg

Why such a big range?

I appreciate different options weigh different amounts but are they really saying a fully optioned L&K car is over 160kg heavier than one with no options?

It has most of the options to start with

No idea.

Minimum Kerb Weight without driver.

You did not say 'Estate'.

Yes with is obviously a separate column

even if you add 60kg of fuel its still 100kg of stuff

35kg for a towbar?

20kg full size spare wheel?

2kg for a jack?

Struggling to find 100kg  but not sure what all the options weigh.

I guess the pan roof might be another 20 which I guess is getting there

Kerb weight includes a full tank of fuel.

Pre WLTP they used to have it at 3/4 of a tank.

If you go to the configurator and add all options

Add on spare wheel, glass roof, tow bar and few smaller add ons and fuel and can add 100kg

Of course the 4x4 system also adds weight compared to 2wd cars.

Ultimately the extra weight of all these can be equivalent of adding ten 25kg bags of cement.   You probably wouldn't want to drive around everyday with this extra weight, (the equivalent of few bags of cement), so have to question if things like 4x4 system really needed.

Yes for those who live up a track on a hill/mountain, but for most people it's a very costly alternative to buying set of winter wheels with premium winter tyres.  And that's before cost of extra fuel to lug all that extra weight around.

Yes my main point is L&K already INCLUDES 4x4 DCC cooled seats etc etc

I’m just surprised even on a car that starts with 90% odd of the extras, going all out still adds another 100+ kgs
