Has anyone successfully wired their dashcam to activate when unlocking the vehicle, rather than starting up with the ignition? I'm aiming to prevent parking incident false positives when loading into the car. It's acceptable for the dashcam to return to parking mode upon ignition off OR locking the vehicle, as it has a configurable parking mode delay.

 

The challenge is ensuring the dashcam powers on BEFORE entering the vehicle.

 

I've heard about using a SPDT relay connected to the unlock/KESSY/comfort fuse. Could anyone share their experience or provide insights on this setup?

Your best bet is to get a multimeter and the fuse chart. Lock the car when you're inside it and measure each fuse. I know from other VAG cars some fuses don't lose power until 30 secs after the car is locked, but reactivates when you unlock the car.
