Squib Repair - Airbag Light Still On

Featured Replies

Hi,

My airbag light came on, the horn stopped working and the steering wheel buttons all stopped working. Sure enough, the ribbon in my squib was snapped.

I sent the squib off for repair and I've refitted it. The horn works, and the steering wheel buttons still work but I still have the air bag light and "Error: Airbag" when I turn it on.

I thought if I replaced like for like the airbag light would self clear - is this not the case?

if not, how can I clear it please? I've driven the car a bit and it's still there. Do I need a VCDS to clear it, as I don't have one.

Thanks for any help.

Yes. How often do I have to point out that airbag warning lights are latching?

OK. Thanks for the reply. I didn’t know this and I couldn’t find the answer from my searching the forums.
