Extended Warrenty and Service

Featured Replies

My Rapid is registered in 2017

I have been offered an extended warranty  for one year for £200

Is this subject to having the car serviced at a Skoda Garage

I tend to use a more local garage for services

For peace of mind is it worth extending the warrenty

I have also been offered a two year Service Plan from Skoda

Are these good value

Ask those making the offer to send the T&C,s.

The Exclusions etc.

As far as servicing it is a Free Market', Registered for VAT etc.  They can not run a Cartel.

But,

Would the Warranty offered be valid as in a Full Record of Servicing to the Manufacturers Recommendations, Guidelines or Advice / Schedule up to now using the Approved / OME parts?

So what has the 7 or 8 year old car had up to now, and what engine / gearbox have you, and what is covered by the Warranty.

What does the Service Plan Include?

This is not totally correct, but what Skoda have shown for fixed service regimes since 2020.

What are you going to get for the next service and the one after included with their offer?

My car was last serviced in May 2024

This was the minor service

Big service due next May 2025

As far as works carried out

It's had a new clutch fitted

Petrol Engine 999cc

Manual Gearbox

Ideally I'd like to go with Warranty

But get car serviced by non Skoda Garage

Will Skoda still accept Warranty

Read the terms of the warranty.   There are no BIG services.   Oil and inspection and extended scope.     ? When are spark plugs, pollen filter, air filter and brake fluid being replaced?   Are you paying or are they in the service plan.    It is all in the detail.    I would stick with independent servicing unless this Warranty is wonderful and also the Serviced plan.
