2015 Mk 2 1.6 TDi Fault code P0401 00 [11101000] - Insufficient Flow

Featured Replies

My tales of woe have now extended to my car. I can't recall the last time one of my Superbs was in good health since my wife bought a Mk 3. This time it is my Mk 2 estate which is showing teh fault below. Needless to say the EGR, from what I read, is tucked away 2 or 3 hours labour from removing. I used to clean out my Mondeo one regularly  but that was right at the front of teh engine. I'm presuming the egr is clogged up but I dare say it could be a hose with a leak. Car running perfectly and can't see any smoke. Any suggestions or is it yet another holiday for my mechanic at my expenses lol

Just to update on this. The light went off itself. I got the car Carbon cleaned and so far no further light and car running fine.

  • 1 year later...

How long before the light came back on after the carbon clean ?

I haven't done a huge amount of miles since then (8k or so) but haven't seen it since. I do have a similar code on my new to me mark 3 so may well go down the same route for that and get a carbon clean
