FL VRS?

Featured Replies

Anyone got any info on the FL petrol VRS release date? Saw something on Facebook the other day about November for the FL VRS iV, but nothing on the full fat petrol.

There are at least 4 topics on the Facelift of Octavia...
However, AFAIK Skoda didn't announce anything about an iV (PHEV) version for the FL - unlike it's platform and group siblings (Golf, Formentor) that do offer the new PHEV (1.5 TSI + 20 kWh battery) for their facelifts. Do you have a link for that piece of info, or is it just a rumor?

Unfortunately I think that is an old response, referring to the launch of the original (non-FL) Octavia iV on 3 November 2020.
For one thing, 3 November isn't a Tuesday in 2024...

See this article from October 2020 which confirms that date in 2020.

Recent response to question on a FL ad on Facebook but agree dates strange.

Ah yes - found it here for anyone else who is interested (not sure how to direct-link to the comment but it's an answer to a question on the VRS as you say).

I also don't think they've publicly announced PHEV versions anywhere, and it seems unlikely they'd announce it in response to a random FB comment, so suspect whoever looks after that Facebook page found the wrong item from 2020.

That said - I'm sure a lot of people have asked Skoda about when there will be a PHEV FL Octavia, and clearly they have the technology on that platform (Cupra Leon equivalents are available to order from the end of this month for instance), so it wouldn't surprise me if one is coming. But it won't happen on Tuesday 3 November 2024.

I think it's a bot answering looking at other responses, so take any answers with a pinch of salt unfortunately.

I read today the latest Golf GTi is £1000 less than the previous model, which surely bodes well for VRS pricing. Hoping you will able to get an estate with a couple of options under the £40k scary road tax bar...

Petrol VRS is now on the German configurator.

Yes, it's available in French configurator as well. Did a fast configuration to compare it with ours and it's around 15% more expensive.

15% more! That's discouraging. My current RS lease runs out in 20 months. Wonder if I will be tempted to update or get an EV to replace it.

Well, I was not putting the inflation factor on the table. CPI inflation rate from November 2020 to June 2024 is 21.3%. Our price tag for the car was 47 k€ in 2020 euro value; 57 k€ in 2024 euro value. With more or less same extras today is quoted in 53 k€ 2024 euro value, 4k€ cheaper.

Looks like the estate is priced about €500 below the Golf GTI in France.  So that would be about £38500 in the UK....

Wow...the price is really high in EU compared to Australia. Yeah I do expect the price to rise but I hope it will still be competitive in its price segment.

I'm curious about the 2025 RS update especially the  factory exhaust update, as the lack of exhaust sound of my current VRS is a major let down.  My lease will run out in 18 months and i will consider it if the update/extra power/new exhaust will improve the sporty package enough.
