Going to view one tomorrow. Currently have a 1.2tsi yeti. What is a rapid like to live with? Any specific issues to look out for? It’s a 1 previous owner family car, but we need the rear leg room. Have looked at Octavia’s again but very few locally within my budget (mostly newer cars and out of price range).  Wife is worried that the interior looks a little basic and dated but Skoda’s tend to be a little like Lego and I’m sure people here have swapped trims etc to lift the interior slightly?  With this one it already has sat nav and dab but it’s not a Columbus it’s and older 3 button one with a tiny screen (Amundsen?) so maybe changing that will update the dash area a little?  Has anyone changed the basic air con dials to climatronic?

I had 3 Toledos and 1 Rapid with 1.2 and 1.0 TSI engines. I found all to be utterly reliable. Obviously the basic design is of an earlier generation but they were safe and comfortable. My daughter still has my last Toledo. The car is extremely roomy with an enormous boot. The vehicles are long and narrow. The Sat Nav maps update easily with a new £25 SD card from E bay. Have you looked at the Rapid clone Toledo as you get a much better spec for your money ?

I’ve not, to be honest the rapid wasn’t even on my radar as I thought it would be comparable or smaller in rear leg room than the Yeti. It was only that I was close to my “used to be Skoda dealer, now a Suzuki dealer” and saw it so I stopped for a quick look.  However, if the Toledo is of similar size I may look for a few if this isn’t the one for us.

The Skoda Rapid and Seat Toledo were manufactured by Skoda in Czechia on the same production line . In terms of dimensions there is only millimeters  in it. There are only cosmetic differences between the two cars. For some reason the Toledo always came substantially better equipped for the same money.

you cannot compare a YETI with a RAPID, the rapid is a minimal car for a minimal city use, I used one for almost a year, I dont like it at all 😞 I used  a YETI for 5-6 years and it is a GREAT CAR, you can go everywhere with it, especially if it is 4x4 like mine

anyway it depends what kind of roads you have to go, 

I heard that YETI will be re-launched next year

The only people that seem to not be saying there will be a New Yeti in 2025 is SKODA.

Is there any articles from Skoda saying they are going to produce a Yeti before the Epiq is revealed?
