57nl campaign?

Featured Replies

Had a routine service to my Karoq recently and see a workshop remark in the Skoda service record: "carry out 57nl campaign".  What does this code mean, please?  I've looked online but not found it anywhere.

Sorry no idea.  But be sure to ask them, and why the Service Receptionist never explained it when you collected the car.

I'll enquire when mine goes for this update👍

There was a thread on this forum complaining about delays to the handover of new Karoqs because the dealers were waiting for a software update to them. This could be the update your car has received.

Chris

Question for the O/P, Andrew ......... what engine is in your Karoq, please?

I've just booked my 2019 1.5tsi in for its annual service, and I was advised that 'there's a update that needs to be carried out'. I've no idea what that might relate to but, of course, I will ask when I get there.

I was contemplating taking the car to an independent when the 'All-in' plan expires. Would such updates be available to an independent garage? Or ........ is the update business a cunning scheme to keep you hooked to Skoda dealers?

Quite common they are not there with Skoda to not show Service Campaign / Recall Actions / Workshop actions / Skoda Secret Service Servicing Actions, that people might or might not find out about.

Even Safety Recall once these convince the DVSA that they can contact Registered Keepers about but if the car is not into a Main Dealers can be missed.

My 2023 Karoq was updated today.

My excellent local /supplying main dealer confirmed the campaign is 57NL and relates to the car locking with keys inside.

I've just emailed my dealer to confirm what the 57NL campaign concerned and this is the reply:  "The recall 57NL is a control unit update to the body control module and prevents the car from automatically locking itself when unnecessary."

I may be missing something here but, doesn’t the automatic locking only apply when the vehicle has been unlocked but none of the doors have been opened?

I suppose the statement might be a clumsy way of saying ‘to prevent the boot re-locking if the key is inside’?

Either way, it’s quite clever how the car knows there’s ‘the’ key inside - and yet is happy to ignore a key inside if you use another to lock the car, not tried the same with the APP.

@GladysFriday  Did you ask and get in writing what 'Software Update' your car got, and was that other than 57NL.

Was it the Software Update that was holding up the Delivery of new cars in June & July 2024?

My last post was their verbatim reply regarding the 57NL. I've no idea about the delivery issues apparently effecting new cars I'm afraid.
