Park Pilot timeout setting

Featured Replies

Hi,

I've recently acquired a 2019 Mk 3 RS245. I really love it but one thing is really driving me nuts about it. When I go into reverse, the rear parking sensors activate and the stereo volume reduces, as expected. However, when I come out of reverse, they remain activated for about 15 seconds or until the car exceeds 10 km/h. I have VCDS, Is there any way to reduce or remove the 15 second hang time where the sensors remain active after disengaging reverse? The constant chirping is really grating. I part up against a wall and it's like having a geiger counter after the apocalypse. What I'd like to happen is for the sensors to disengage and the stereo to return to full volume as soon as I take the car out of reverse, like my Mk II did. I can't find anything that looks relevant in the infotainment menus.

Thanks

You can disable Parking Pilot and just use the parking sensors if preferred, although not tried I believe this doesnt drop the volume at all.

But I agree with you, its far too slow to disengage the Parking Pilot setting.

Others have the same complaint. Seems to be a standard but meaningless feature.

I had a look as ironically its one of those things I have always meant to look at but never bothered. You can turn Park pilot off and you can also adjust how quiet it goes (entertainment fading), which is what bothers me as it goes basically deathly quiet when parking. I may still tweak the volume but it'll hopefully be better.
