Hi from Ni

Featured Replies

Hello folks, and thanks for the add from Northern Ireland.

Long time Vag owner but recently entered into the Skoda marquee a few years back.

MK2 Octavia Scout TDI arrived first, and recently followed by another MK2 Octavia  Vrs derv and a Fabia Vrs TDI se,same as my son's car.

3 cars was a bit much for me so the Scout recently went but was closely replaced by a MK3 Octavia 1.6tdi🥴.

Yes Travs.

I'd never owned a Fabia, just Octavias, but used my son's black fab quite a few times.

While searching for a pretty standard fab Vrs for him I came across one of these se's locally, but it was to modified for my 18 year old son at the time. Fast forward a year and we found another slightly modified se ,so the black car was sold and replaced.....but the original se I had viewed was possibly still available...,.at a better price.......so I bought it also for myself....and the family.....as a spare car 🥴

I think the fab Vrs TDI is a decent wee backup car for all the family 👍

Agree with that. I had one years back and enjoyed 65k pretty hard miles. Remapped and light BBS wheels and it went well (although the remap could be a little aggressive on the clutch). Did the EGR delete on it but because it was the early ASZ engine it was awful when turning off. Sounded like it was going to fall apart. Only ran it with Millers additive; it seemed to stall when cold otherwise 😒

They can sound a bit tractor-esque.

Especially when the exhaust and intake are  non standard.

Currently making a turn down tail pipe for one as the the remap is slightly rich and I'm feed up with the dirty tailgate every 100 miles.

We've only had PD stuff recently after a CR issue a while back (BLB crank failure) so this newer 1.6 Cr will be interesting compared to what I've been used to.

I even have the wife in the last of the A3 pd engine cars.
