I just bought my new skoda octavia car, and I can't find a usb-c to usb-c power cable to power my 70Mai 510 dashboard camera, I tried a bunch of cables and couldn't get it to start. If I plug in to the mirrotr  a usb-to-usb adapter and put a usb-to-usb-c cable, the camera powers up. I mention that I also tried the cable bought by the Skoda representative in Romania, a cable that is 1.5 m and that has several plugs and it works, but I want a short cable, can you help me with this problem?

I use a 15cm from the mirror & a 30cm in the pocket in front of the gear lever. Not all USB cables are equal, many fail or deteriorate over time due to internal damage & some are just fake crap.

You should also download a power monitoring app like Ampere to a mobile phone, this will give you an indication of when & how much power is being fed.

Plenty of USB-C to USB-C cables available on Amazon, for example.  Just bought a 3m one myself.

Some USB cables have a limit on how much current they can carry and won't work if the wattage is too great for the cable

You can buy USB-C to C but you may need to buy a small adapter like I did for my Nextbase 622GW, it cost about 65p or so on Temu or AliExpress, I just bought them with a load of bits.

 

Why oh why they don't standardise the connections to USB-C I don't know. But it works perfectly of the mirror usb socket.
