Columbus dvd

Featured Replies

Hello, I have a Columbus radio, but for a few days it has been asking me to insert the navigation DVD, and I don't have it. Does anyone have the .iso image of the DVD I'm asking for?

I indicate the information:

Delivery part number: 3T0035680Q

HW version: H21

Firmware version: 6270

Active map coverage: -

Active map supplier: -

Thank you so much

If you had maps on disk drive then probably it is broken or corrupted... First of all, upgrade firmware to 6276 - I will send you link in PM - and then install maps from DVD (I beleive you will get some link to the image)

Burn firmware image on CD-R, not DVD-R

Thanks a lot.

Indeed it seems as if the maps have disappeared, even the Active Map Coverage and the Active Map Suplier are empty.
I have downloaded the firmware .iso and will burn it to CD-R. Please do you have the installation instructions?

I don't see the link to the maps for Europe. I live in Spain. Can you give me the link and also tell me how to install them?

You are being very kind, my father is a Taxi Driver in Seville and his job has been complicated without navigation.

All the best

Burn the image, insert disc with unit on and ignition off, it will start the update automatically. Update takes approx. 45 minutes. However, if the disc is broken then SW upfgrade may fail and then you will need to replace it. Your unit is equipped with 30GB or 32GB IDE SSD 2.5" drive. It's not easy to find a replacement but you can use also bigger disc, e.g. 128GB (this is the cheapest one I found on ebay). Replacement is not very hard but will require the unit to be completely disassemblied.

On th eother hand, in such case you can also think about replacing the unit with MIB STD2 PQ unit and then use navigation via Android Auto or Apple CarPlay - however this is quite expensive option (approx 800 EUR) so makes sense only if the car will be used for next few years.

That must be a typo?

Okay, car key removed to do the firmware update.
In the event that the update fails due to the hard drive being corrupted. I think I have a 128gb SSD at home. But, if I had to change the SDD, wouldn't I have to record a new image of the entire radio system? Or would the .iso image that you have already sent me serve to update the firmware.
I assume that the Spanish language is eligible in the update you sent me.

Could you privately send me the link to maps of Europe?
Thank you very much

I don't have a link to maps, sorry.

Sure it was a typo, corrected :)

Just make sure disk is PATA (IDE), not SATA.

Disk is used ONLY for maps, music and POI, it does NOT contain any firmware (despite some language files which are not so relevant).

Do you know anyone who can provide me with the map of Europe for Columbus?

The 2.5" PATA SSD (IDE) are very expensive and obsolete.

Can I buy a 44pin IDE to SATA adapter? Well, I have several SATA SSD hard drives at home.

Hello, the update didn't go well until it froze in the HDD section at 4% and it rejected the CD.

I'm scared, now there is a black screen saying Software Download - Valid SWL Image found, starting SWL. It's been like this for more than 39 minutes and without the CD inside. Help me!

You have to replace SSD first then just insert the CD-R with SW burned
