Welcome.

Maybe an idea to say what engine you have and then members might know what DSG you have.

Then maybe consider how many miles the engine / DSG has done.

Is it a 1.4 TSI with a DQ200 7 speed dry twin clutch DSG which is rated to a max 250 Nm but which can be OK taking more.

But this is used on 1.4 TSI / TFSI Twinchargers with 180 or 185 ps & 250 Nm, and even on ones remapped to over 200 ps and 300+Nm.

Thé week spot of the DQ200 is its clutches. Mine only survived for the last 150.000 km's (and counting) because it has improved (after market) software and it was not overloaded with torque (kept it at stock 250 Nm). I would never recommend to strain it with a higher torque than the specified max of 250 Nm.

Further agreed with @Ootohere: Topic starter @led57 should start by telling us what engine his Superb has...

OP's mention of 138 bhp suggests 2.0 TDI, which would have the DQ250 wet clutch 'box.
