Timing belt question on a 2.0 TDI 2017

Featured Replies

Hi there,

I have a Skoda Octavia estate 2017 2.0 TDI that I bought from a private dealer with about 90,000 miles on it. I have since taken this to about 105,000 miles and I'm wondering about the timing belt. The dealer said he wouldn't do it till it's hit about 145,000 as the weather in the UK doesn't warrant it but I'd like to check with you guys?

Also if there's anyone in the east midlands, preferably Notts area who can recommend a good garage to perform the change when it's time that would be great.

Thank you in advance.

Hadn't heard the "weather doesn't warrant it" line before, but yes SUK have fairly recently extended the cambelt interval to 145_000 miles.
