I was still quite pleased with the performance of my VRs diesel. I’ve recently had some ABS sensor work done and at the same time my mechanic flagged up a faulty Alternator only putting out 12v etc. Since replacing it im getting full voltage to the engine management system which has noticeably improved engine performance. Maybe the mapping was out ?

Octavia Combi 2008 1.9tdi. I'm getting a reading of 13.2 to 13.8V   Just wondering if this is normal or an indication of a problem with the alternator?

I think mines putting out 14 volts + now

Absolutely normal aside from when the battery is significantly discharged when it may go above 14v for a few minutes.
