Help with some bits and bobs

Featured Replies

Right, I'm after some help from you knowledgable bunch on here. I've tried to find some answers for these. but figured I'd see what you all thought. I've got a 2020 vRS 245 hatch.

  • Performance Display - 2020 vRS 245, is there a way to enable this on the infotainment system? Not majorly fussed if not, but thought it might be some fun.

  • RS display units - I've got the digi dash, and the power being in kW is a bit annoying. Is there a way to change to BHP like on BMWs?

  • Interior lighting (1) - Footwell lights. The current ones are yellow/white, and don't match everything else. The part numbers are 6L0947565, which aren't available in red. I'm having a hard time finding anything else (the red door ones won't fit, and have different connectors. I don't want to spend £40 on some XYZ Tiguan ones, only to find they don't fit). Reckon some transparent red vinyl is the best bet?

  • Interior lighting (2) - Infotainment system/switches. Is there any way to change the switch gear lighting from green to red or white, or would it be a job with the actual LEDs?

  • Any links to some good quality black vRS/Skoda/Octavia badges? Kopacek?

  • Dashcam cable routing - how does this look? I'm concious of the moving HVAC thingy, although I can't seem to see it. Wiring is bunched up with cloth tape and sits on top of the cabin filter. Photo:

  • Door handle - the previous owner has modified it by shutting something in it. The little plastic part is cracked, and the trim won't sit flush. Is replacing this part a realistic option, or should I get out the plasti bond? Photo:

Thank you guys! :)

You can use VCDS and infotainment update to get power update and the door handle I have the same problem, rough technician damages the card.

Ah... Is that little plastic bit part of the whole card then?

The performance meter is really just a gimmick, the boost gauge doesn't take into account atmospheric pressure so is basically useless. I've installed a canchecked display, it replaces one of the air vents and sits in a 3d printed holder that fits perfectly and looks oem. It runs off the obd port and is fully customisible and displays pretty much every sensor you can think of, oil temp, IAT, boost pressure, speed, gears etc etc. Ignore the readings it shows on the picture, that was before I'd set it up correctly.

The infotainment switches/buttons - I believe you can replace the units with those from a superb which have white leds instead of green.

Badges - I'd only recommend kopacek. Some people get lucky with the eBay versions but I've always found them crap quality and poor fit.
