Incar DVD

Featured Replies

I'm wanting to install an incar DVD, I dont want to spend much on it and I'm not bothered for Sat Nav. I've been looking at these and wondered if anyone here has had one and how do you rate it. I've had Pioneer headunits in the past and really like them, I've also had Kenwoods but dont like the sound from them (Which means I'm selling my Kenwood CD Headunit) http://caraudiosecurity.com/shop/product/products_id/3460.html

I have a Pioneer one, 6600 IIRC. Had it a couple of years and I love it

I guess your talking about the AVH-P6600DVD ? Did you fit it yourself or did you get it fitted? I've heard alot about these should be fitted so they can be wired upto your handbrake light so it wont play dvd's on the screen while the handbrake is on.

Strangely, that part of the fitting instructions would appear to have been overlooked ;)

Why dont you consider getting a double din head unit with a screen? Rather than a motorised screen.

You can get a "cheap" double DIN DVD player from ebay for about £400.

The way I'd do it is to buy the single DIN JVC MP3/WMA/DVD head unit, for less than £180 and connect it to a suitable screen for anything from £120+

I like the idea of motorised screens as you cant see the screen all the time.

I think that should be whilst the handbrake is off; the idea being not to distract the driver whilst moving. The guy who installed my Avic said they always bypass the handbrake switch when installing touchscreens.
