Water leakage into the boot and the inside of the roof

Featured Replies

Hello fellow owners!

I've got an Octavia 1u 20vt without a sunroof that I bought a few months ago,and I have the following problem:

Water gets inside the boot bellow the carpet on the left and right side where you store stuff (img included bellow), and on the inside of the roof where the handles are located from the front to the back. Today I opened the plug in the boot bellow the carpet to drain the water, but I can't seem to locate from where the water gets in.

Do you have any idea where the leakage is?

Thank you for reading so far! 🫡

Is there a possibility that the water comes in from the outside roof trim? The plastic trims that goes from the front to the back on both sides, because there is water coming from both, left and right side.

I've checked the seals on the boot and doors all seems good, so it's probably not that. Even if it was that how does it get wet above the a-b pillar.

Anyone that has any idea, would be very helpful!

Thank you!

Have you checked the roof aerial?

Didn't even think of the roof aerial. Thanks, I'll check it.

There is a small gap between the roof and the antenna, will test if water gets in from there.

Just checked, the water doesn't get in from there.

Update, its the roof rack holes, the plastic thingies are missing.

And water was getting in, between the A-B pillars and B-C pillars, and also the water was following the metal guide and was going to the

trunk.

Can I find the original plastic inserts anywhere, in order not to use silicon?

(not my picture, took it from a member of this site, using it as an example for the others to know)
