having just bought MkII Octavia VRS I have been having a look at MFD 2 units available on Ebay, mostly VW units. With prices starting ~

Yes I have,

I fitted one to my Touran & it really is quite easy, I went through all the searching of checking out the wiring loom for positions etc & it turns out it was a straight connect using the original multiplug, it onlly gets complicated & expensive (as I found out -

Hi

I have ordered one off eBay, and it has just arrived, make note that it is not the same shape as the standard Skoda Octavia 2 stream radio/cd player that it will replace, so you will need to purchase a new surround trim from Skoda (£15) to accomodate the different dimensions of the MFD2 unit.

I think the part number is :1Z0 858 069 H 2AU for the Aluminium trim with Climate control.

If you buy from eBay German sellers seem to be genuine even if you have to send cash via a bank transfer first, but do not trust some of the eastern block countries selling them as I have found that they sell a lot of stolen units.

So whatever you do if you get one of these MFD2 units, is to stay away from Romainia with your car, otherwise the window will be smashed and your sat nav removed and sold back to you via eBay. :o)

I hope this helps.

What do you mean with aluminium trim with climate control?

I live in Italy, and bought a MFD2 navi for my Octy elegance.

I installed it myself, but I have to buy a new surround trim. The guy at skoda service didn't manage to find out the right part number. Do you know which is the correct part number? I just need the plastic surround trim.

If your Oct II came with a stream radio, the radio is a different shape to the MFD2 so you will need a replacemant surround to accomodate the differnt shape radio

Yes, I know it. But I would like to have the part number, as there must be a panel for cars equipped with climatronic and another for cars without climatronic.

I read the part number AndyMcJ wrote, but I need a satin plastic one and not an aluminium one.

Sorry for my English

If you give the part number to your dealer before you order it will come up with a diagram on their system. It will also list other part numbers for the different trim types. Select the one you want.

If you don't want to go to your dealer to do this, part numbers are available on-line from a Russian site IIRC. There is a link to it in the links section on here.

TaviaRS, the russians want 5$/month to show you the part number...

Damn, they've changed it :( I'm sure some on here have access to a system which will list the parts you want. ;)

Sorry, Just found the Dash part i have been after since buying the car.....

and yes you have to pay to see part numbers !

Partnumbers ARE NOT SHOWN, BECAUSE YOU HAVE TO

PROLONG YOUR ACCOUNT BY PAYING THROUGH SPACECOIN.COM here »»

We will be requiring a small monthly fee to access the partnumbers (5$/month).

Does anyone have an account that can get the number of the part - willing to pay !

Hi

The part number you require is 1Z0 858 069 L 2AU, I have verified this with Skoda in the UK and they have 3 in stock. I am picking my one up tomorrow, the previous number I quoted was picked up from another forum, but this number quoted was found after several lengthy phone calls to Skoda and Pilling Skoda in Milton Keynes.

This was described as being the exact panel i need for a normal Skoda Octy 2 with an MFD2 & Dual Climate and no Aluminium.

I hope this helps.

Thank You!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:) :)

How wrong was I.....

When I collected the supposed grey plastic part, it was all in matt Aluminium finish.

But rather than wait I took this as it was only £15.50, but now it has been fitted wow.. it makes it look sportier and matches nicely with the Aluminium strips elsewhere around the car, it also makes the dark plastic controls stand out as well as the sat nav.

Pics? :)

A little off topic...........

Can you get a plastic trim to go around the climatronic/stream HU that matches the silver trim on the Elegance?

It needs perking up as it's just a sea of grey plastic.

I too have been trying to source a trim to go round my current Stream and Climate Control....

any ideas?

Hang around here like I am and hopefully the answer will appear :)

Hi all

I have a original Skoda MFD2 and trim to sell. If anyone interested just PM me.

Jetstream, could you read the part number in your trim?
