Octavia Estate 1.2 spare wheel?

Featured Replies

I know there are lots of ‘spare wheel’ threads but I couldn’t find an answer to my query. I have an Octavia Estate mk3 2016 1.2. It has no spare wheel but the gunge option. I’d like to buy a wheel and spare wheel kit but… as I have no jack I can’t take a wheel off to see if it will fit in the boot. Ideally I’d prefer to but a like-for-like wheel rather than a space saver. Tyre size 205/55 R16. Anyone know if this size wheel would fit in the boot, in the wheel well?

It needs to fit in the spare tyre well when you take it off even if the tyre is deflated then reinflated / repaired.

Sounds like a good idea to get a matching spare to the ones on the car.

Cheers, just need to know if it’ll fit in the well. I know some cars’ spare wheel well is only big enough for a space saver, not full size wheel.

It will fit.

I take it you have no jack to go see that you can loosen the bolts and change a wheel and then take off one and pop it in the spare tyre well.

No I have no jack unfortunately. Am looking to buy a wheel and spare wheel kit.

You can purchase the below foam and jack kit from any VAG parts department by quoting OEM part number 5E0093860E. They can check by reference to your car's VIN number whether this is the correct kit for your car.

The kit includes everything except for the actual spare wheel, which can be purchased separately.

Octavia MK3 foam and jack kit 5E0093860E (1329CZK is about £44.95)

The below link shows a steel rim without a tyre, but mytyres can also supply this rim with a tyre of your choice already fitted and balanced (including new valve).

Alcar 8667 6.5Jx16 ET46 5/112 57.1 steel rim (for 205/55R16 tyre size) (for Octavia MK3) (£50.50 including shipping from Germany)

ALCAR 8667

Thanks very much. I’m still unsure whether a full size spare wheel will fit though as I can’t currently remove one of my wheels to try. I have no jack or access to one. Do you know if a 16” diameter wheel with 55 aspect ratio tyre = 632mm total diameter and 205mm width tyre will fit in the spare wheel well?

If you order the foam and jack kit through a VAG parts department they should be able to confirm whether the standard Octavia MK3 205/55R16 6.5Jx16 ET46 wheel fits in the spare wheel well. I suspect it will.
