Black Skoda vRS

Featured Replies

Anyone had problems with paintwork on black octavias?

I only seem to look at it and it scratches !

It's a 2003 model and when I bought it it had a paint treatment - scotchguard I think.

It's the first black car I've owned - are they all hard to keep clean and scratch-free ?

Are you talking scratches, or something more like swirl marks?

If its swirl marks, they are caused by things like car washes, or poor washing technique.

Have a read on http://www.polishedbliss.co.uk/acatalog/guides_wash.html for some good advice.

There are also products that will help get rid of the swirls - some searching on here will give recommendations.

A good clean with a machine called a Porter Cable (orbital buffer type thing) is probably the best way to get rid of swirls.

Had my black magic Octy detailed last week before it was due at a car show over the weekend.

It looks simply stunning, all swirl marks have gone, pictures and details on the above thread!
