2016 1.2tsi OS/R door locking issue

Featured Replies

Hi everyone

My wife's RHD /UK '16 1.2 yeti has an issue with the offside rear door lock, sometimes it locks with the central locking, sometimes it doesnt. It'll open from the inside happily enough. There doesn't seem to be any more issues with the door open sensor, or the electric window operation from the front or the back.

Door control module or the lock, do you think?

I'll OBDeleven it tomorrow and whip the door card off for a look, if it is the DCM, does anyone know if they're handed, (The only ones I can find on fleabay are NS/R)

First check for broken wires in loom where it passes from door to A pillar, classic fail point but not hard to repair at zero cost.

I got 'implausible signal' and 'leak to earth' from the door lock, no mention on the OBD reader of any wiring issue or the door control module, so I ordered one from a breaker and replaced it.

All sorted.

Hi Nick, sorry this is so much in the past - I have the same problem as you - what exactly did you replace???

It was the locking unit itself on the door, iirc. I think it's all one piece, DCM and lock from memory. Took 10 minutes to swap out and had been as good as gold since.

I note that you originally asked if they are handed - are they?
