Advice on multiple error codes

Featured Replies

I have a 68 plate Karoq 1.6 Diesel
Over the weekend we topped up the ad Blue as it had suggested it was low.
It didn't clear the error - didn't think anything of it and assumed something needed cycling.

Anyway. MOT was this Monday, also had a service.
As part of that they cleared the codes (as otherwise the check engine light is on because of adblue no engine start in 650 miles)

Thought nothing of it, got my car back, £400 lighter but with an MOT and service done.

Next morning won't start. Lots of errors on dash, basically cycling through a whole host of errors - many of which i know for a fact are not a problem.
Took it to the garage, they got a "specialist" in to clear the codes. Was fine for 24 hours then everything came back on again like a christmas tree.

Garage have tried a new battery, and have replaced the abs sensor. Still no luck. They have now said I need to take it back to Skoda.
Skoda have a 5 week wait time and charge £144 per hour to even look at it.

I have seen a couple of posts before with similar issues and wondered if anyone had any advice.
At the moment the car isn't drivable - the battery drains overnight by whatever is causing the issue but the garage kindly charged it back up for me (but i assume this will continue to happen).

We are a 1 car household so 5 weeks without one is not really an option.

Can upload images of errors if its helpful but as i said i think its more likely these aren't true errors and are being triggered by whatever is the actual fault.

Any help or advice would be appreciated.

Hello, welcome to the forum.

Has it been confirmed that the battery is discharging overnight?

Multiple, seemingly unrelated fault indications are a common issue if battery voltage goes too low.

If battery is discharging overnight while vehicle is shut down (and nothing has been left switched on) it is possible that you have a parasitic load, where one, or several of the control modules are not going into sleep mode correctly.

Thanks for the reply.
It’s drained the battery twice, over the space of two days each time.

The garage put a new battery in it and cleared the codes but they came back a day later.

It has charge at the moment but who knows by tomorrow.

Agree it sounds like that could be a thing. Not sure how I would get that diagnosed as current garage have said nothing more they can do and must go to ŠKODA. Who have no availability for 5 weeks.

Current thought is to try and trade it in but going to lose probably more than a repair would cost me.

Please do.

Have you added or changed anything electrical, dashcam, LED bulbs, radio unit etc?
