Headlight condensation/air vents location

Featured Replies

Hi all, my Fabia Monte Carlo drivers headlight is regularly suffering with condensation and has got significantly worse over the past few months. I realise that the weather and temperature make all the difference and in the sunlight it does dry out eventually. However, the condensation quickly returns most days. I've used Google and YouTube and seen various articles and videos and suspect it may be a blocked air vent that is causing the issue as I can't see any leaks or chips to the actual headlight unit and there isn't any water build up inside. Whilst all the articles are useful in identifying the issue, I haven't found one that actually pinpoints where the air vents are located on the drivers side headlight. There isn't a great deal of room between the back of the unit and the rest of the engine bay and so has anyone got any photos or diagrams that will help me please? Many thanks.

Did you have any luck solving this.  My parents are having the same problem on their fabia

No joy, I'm afraid. I did however speak to my mechanic and he has suggested that this won't be an MOT failure as long as I put the headlight on high beam and dry out the casing immediately before I take it for it's yearly test. The MOT was my only fear as I've got the Monte Carlo model and the headlight is the black rather than chrome version. Sourcing a replacement is a nightmare and they only seem to be available from Lithuania and cost around £400 and that's before paying to have it fitted. 🙈
