Electric window wiring stripped in 2018 Fabia

Featured Replies

My parner has a Fabia MkII "Clever" Combi delivered new in May 2018. Since several weeks the passenger side window no longer works, and now the driver-side window also can't be opened more than a crack or else it won't close (= how issues started on the passenger side). Workshop verdict: wires completely stripped on that side, and in bad shape on the driver side: all must be replaced; 3 hours of work.

We've already had a similar problem with the rear hatch, with first only the light not working but ultimately the entire hatch not unlocking.

Evidently this has to happen outside the warranty but I can't help but think that these wires cannot be considered a wearing part and should have a much longer longevity than just over 6 years.

Any chance of obtaining a commercial gesture from VAG for the repair (even if not done at an official dealership)?
