When starting the car and putting it into drive, the car goes to park by itself

Featured Replies

As the title says, When starting the car and putting it into drive, the car goes to park by itself and I cannot take off. It did that twice already. First time in the garage, I almost couldn't leave and today on a hill. I left my car on a slight incline and when I turned my car on and put it into drive it put itself into park. It did that for couple of minutes.

Is this some safety feature or do I need to go to mechanic?

?

Was your foot firmly on the brake pedal?

Not sure to be honest. Doors were close and seat belt was on.

My personal experience is that, whenever there is an obstacle really near the car (i.e. parking beeps are on....), if you DON'T WEAR THE SAFETY BELT your car will constantly go back to P.

Pleae try to wear your belts first and confirm us if this solves the issue.

I am having the exact same problem. Belt on/off makes no difference. Obstacle near or not makes no difference. I got delivery in July 2024 and it has been ongoing since then. Another issue is the radio comes on randomly when I walk by, turns off after a few minutes.

That is not true re the safety belt. I have had the same issue with and without the safety belt.

What have I let myself in for? Collecting the new car on Thursday
