2.0 TDI (140BHP) Vs 2.0 TDI (170BHP)

Featured Replies

What are the main differences between these two engines? Is it a case of remapping a 140 to achieve DvRS status? or are there different injectors, turbo and cooling system as well?

Confused from S Yorks.

Its a bit of an unknown to most of us as yet but rest assured it will be more than a reamp making the 30 BHP difference. From what i have heard its a completly different ECU Siemens not Bosch this time

Read somewhere that the Leon cupra line will be the 170BHP diesel and the 240BHP petrol..

The Seat 170 will be out this month in the FR guise. I think the Cupra will be 240.

Yep i heard that too, PD170 uses pieze unit injection.

Yep me too.

Jabba told me that the 140 engine has a smaller turbocharger than the 170. It would therefore follow that there is loads of scope for a remap of the 170 unit......... but watch out when it is available with the DSG 'box, because that is a limiting factor! (Yes, it WILL be: it's out already in Audi form and in the VW Passat)

Does it have fmic? If so i think 220 hp remap should be easy.
