Skoda Columbus, Extract GPX tacks possible?

Featured Replies

Hi, Many standalone GPS allow the user to extract previous routes driven as GPX tracks. Does anyone know if this is possible from the Columbus unit built in to my Superb.?

I used this facility regularly to write GPS coordinates to photos I take on my journeys.

What sort of camera are you using?

Some cameras automatically add the GPS coordinates to the photos.

I have several cameras but only one of them and my phone puts the GPS coordonates on the EXIF data. What  I usually do is compare the GPX track which many standalone SatNavs can export to the time the photo was taken. Obviously if the GPS timestamp is the same as the camera timestamp then I us a program to write the GPS coords to the photo EXIF data. Works great, but only if your satnav allows the export of the GPX track.

Out of interest I have 2 NIKON DSLRs a Panasonic TX70 an Sony compact and a Samsung compact plus a Fuji non reflex eyelevel camera. Only the Samsung supports GPS coords but it is otherwise not as good as the others.
