Intercooler ideas

Featured Replies

If your thinking of doing a bit of DIY intercooling have a look at this. Some of you may not be aware but the octavia 2 regardless of what engine uses a FMIC. And its pretty big, not very deep mind. List price is also under £200 for the unit iirc.

I had to change one today as a turbo ended up like this and filled it with oil

But you have to do this to get the bugger out

Not a five minute job. Not sure on cause of the failure of the turbo but would appear the shaft has snapped. 54 plate car but is used as a taxi and allready clocked up 76k. Didnt knacker the engine though, saved it in time.

 Mmmmmmmmm amazing what you can do with degreaser these days.....Whats happened to the IC now Ross?

 Phil

Ok who wants to try this first on their car, i dont have £200 spare to try it :D

Sounds interesting - how much bodging would be required to make it fit a MkI Octy vRS ;)

But how much for the custom piping.

Can't be that much for some pipework, certainly no more than a non OEM FMIC.
