Fuel Filter - 1.4 16v 100hp

Featured Replies

Hello,

Does this photo attached help anyone identify which fuel filter I would need for my Fabia.

Its a 2005 facelift manual 1.4l 16v BBZ engine.

There are so many parts and variations. image.thumb.png.63982034e7e242b5297dd7f6dd0f4284.png

Somebody else will get back to you soon with the correct pressure version, what you need to be aware about is, initially VW Group only sold a single fuel fuel element for these cars - the the pressure regulator was different for different applications, then, it seems that common sense prevailed and the filter/regulator was sold as a single part, so that should explain why you are finding a few variations as some aftermarket sources might still be making the fuel filter element available - for you to fit to the regulator section of that lump.

I did, way back, find someone selling a regulator at a good price, then I bought a new clip to connect it to a new filter which I bought from VW - I put it all together - then never fitted it as the car continued to run okay until when sold at 13 years old and 105,000miles.

Are you replacing this "filter" to try to solve an existing problem or just "good preventative maintenance" ?

Edit:- added in a missing word, ie "car"!

Reg number or VIN will allow me to look up the correct pressure rating for you.

and @rum4mo I guess it’s a preventative measure, I bought the car with ZERO history, and the promise that the car runs perfect. 62k miles tho, and very very clean. A bit of TLC and I should have her ready for sale (after I have had my run with it of course).

The seller wasn’t half wrong, then I read that these filters can be changed every 20k miles, so better to be safe and give it a full service get everything changed and flowing correctly, lord knows how long ago the sparks were changed too, I bought and drove the car with no bloody oil in it, so I can imagine that didn’t do the engine any favours for the hour or so of driving.

I guess fuel filter is one of those things I can change myself and not rack up labour expenses.

I really need a metallic grey front bumper and passenger wing too to get the car looking pretty. Then a headlight polish since the eyes are so big on this car.

Pic for attention - man I wish I could get a VRS bodykit for this colour..

3 bar fuel system on your car, current part number of filter including pressure regulator is 6Q0 201 051H.

You could change them every 20 miles if you were completely insane. Very little chance that there's anything wrong/degraded with the one you have on there, unless it has done huge mileage or been erroneously replaced with a 4-bar rated one.

The other risk associated with changing is that you'll damage a seal on one of the bits of pipework.

Really, unless it's the wrong rating (examine the ends, it's usually stamped somewhere), there's almost no chance whatsoever that replacement will improve anything.
