Hey guys,

I am an Golf GTI 1.8T 20V owner, looking to move to Octavia RS. Wanna find out if there are actually some differences betwen those two cars except exterior ;)

Questions:

Is there a 6-speed Octavia 1.8T RS?

What are some weak points and common replacements/fixes on these cars beside engine? I am pretty much gonna take everything off my Golf when i am about to sell it.

I noticed engine code on one Octavia RS, it says AUQ, on my golf its AUM, whats the difference?

Where do i find some nice "shaved" bodykits? :-)

Thanks guys!

Welcome to Briskoda

Hello and welcome to briskoda, the octavia vrs is 5 speed and the auq engine code is because its the 180 bhp engine ,same as the one fitted to the anniversary golf, not too many common faults i know about other than coil packs and creaking anti roll bar, mine has been fine but i'm sure someone more technical will be along soon:thumbup:

Welcome, common faults (same as the golf) are worn out wheel bushes/ARB/radiator mounts/MAF other than that pretty solid cars.

Thanks for answers guys! VRS Octavia? hmh, why can't I find any here in Sweden. Any special years they are made? I know 2003 octavia rs comes with xenon lights and stuff, the one i saw was 2002 rs and had 5 speed gearbox. How do i tell if its VRS?

The RS is the same as the vRS its just that some people forget to add the v ;)

You could park a Golf in a Octy's boot? ;-)

Wwlcome to Briskoda.
