Gearbox in emergency mode

Featured Replies

@EnterName  Your DQ381 might be wonderful for ever, serviced early, because the failure rate is not 100%.

But the matter in hand is the issues, the growing issues and those saying mine is fine is lovely for them.

As to Gearbox Technicians and mechanical engineers saying bullet proof, well that is questionable. 'Fake news' even.

*Early servicing appears to make little difference to the MCU failure issues, many failing being pretty new, not high mileage and often below 60,000 miles.*

The issue with main deal techs fitting new or refurbished MCU,s.   Training, skills, so need to watch the Youtube Vids on how to set up before fitting.

The same nonsense keeps getting repeated.

All he gear and no idea.

That sounds pretty reasonable.

Do you think Fuchs FFL2 is right oil for dq381? It is different part number compared to OEM oil, but the service guy only do gearboxes and said it is the only brand he use since Fuchs is OEM oil in all wetclutch DSG's?

If the specs match then you're fine.
