Hi there guys and girls, 

I just purchased a second had Octavia 2016 model, nice car, has 140k on the clock, Just having an issue with it, 

 

First thing in morning it really difficult to start , turns over, fires runs really lumpy engine shaking all over place, put foot on accelerator otherwise it will conk out and engine stops,   so I am thinking it could well be injector issue, Im not getting any codes which is really weird, 

So I took for good run and had lot of smoke coming out the exhaust, I attempted a forced Regen but computer kept saying fault and unsupported   ........ So car was running hot the revs sat at 1000 revs as if the car was doing a normal regen while i was driving it, the smoke stopped after about 20 mins but the revs never dropped, I looking at live data and the car was not doing a regen according that so I am wondering if there could be a bad sensor that will not make a fault show,   I dont want to take injectors out and have tested until  I have explored the sensor part first,, also I found one reading at -40 deg on outlet temp sensor bank 1 and also coolant temp sensor 2  ,,, I never come accross this before!!    anyone got any ideas thanks!  

First thing I would say is - don't use a generic scanner.  You need more specialist kit.  Try getting an ODBEleven dongle (https://obdeleven.com/products)

That's never going to help.  If the generic scanner is to be believed, this temperature sensor has gone Open Circuit (they do fail).

Thanks for reply, I found another thread somewhere that this reading is as there is no actual sensor?

 and that the reading is shown on his also, I have removed all 4 injectors and taken them for testing, I hope I shall be told one of them or maybe 2 are faulty so I can get the car running nicely again , ,
