Coding

Featured Replies

Hi All,

I am in desperate need of help. Squib has failed and got another one however it needs coding I assume as when I swapped it out nothing has changed. Horn and controls on steering wheel still do not work and the air bag fault is still there, Plus the Windscreen wash stalk stops working. I am based in Essex. is there anyone in Essex that has the software/ability to? The MOT is due on the 21st and I have had quotes of £600 upwards to sort which seems insane especially as I cannot even afford to pay attention. Looking for help

Part no. of old 5K0 953569 AE

Part no. of New 5K0 953569

I assume it will be ok and just needs to be coded or have i wasted Monday on ebay rubbish?

Compatibility all depends on the part number suffix, if you have steering wheel controls then you need a high line unit.

Rosstech have a good web page that shows all the variants and the functions which are supported by each, Google should find it for you.

If you are lucky you just need the long coding changing for the equipment fitted to your vehicle, if you are unlucky you have wasted your money.

Given that you have the same faults are you sure the problem was actually the clock spring? Did you have a VCDS scan done revealing no comms to the module or fault code(s) relating to it?

What error code is the car showing?

This is the thing. It isn't showing any codes that I can see with my cheap obd reader. I assume it needs the proper gear

Got a new Clock spring from Skoda. installed. All is working. Except the cruise control and has thrown up an EPC warning light. I assume Skoda will need to sort?
