Octavia III 2015 TDi 2.0 VRs fresh air intake location

Featured Replies

Hi. I have tried searching in vain (on the car and on the internet) but cannot see where the actual fresh air for the cabin comes in. It seems it must be blocked - when I put my heater or AC on, I get good air flow for recirculated air but not fresh air, its virtually nil. I thought aah, I will change my cabin filter. In the process I tested with no filter in at all, and the flow is also near to zero, it sounds like its under huge strain when using fresh air. I just wanted to know where the air comes from in the (assume) engine bay? Or wheel arch? Any help would be appreciated.

Below the windscreen is it not.

Yeah could try taking that off - it is between the two wiper blade motors? Plenum or something? I did find this old post but wasn't too conclusive:

Ok so for the benefit of others I did find the intake location, On the passenger side below windscreen as Ootohere said. Photos below.

just needs the cover popping off then there’s another shield with 2 torx screws to remove.

it wasn’t blocked so I’ll open a new thread with a new question to avoid confusion in this one.
