Can i swap MEN3 to MIB3 Unit for Wireless Carplay

Featured Replies

Hi. I have 2023 Kamiq 1.5 TSI Premium. For some reason i don't have wireless carplay in my car by default. My unit's part number is 654 035 871K (SW Train: MEN3_EU_SK370_P2345L). There is no WLAN option in this unit so i can't activate wireless carplay. When I went to the dealer, they said that the vehicle was produced like this and there was nothing they could do.

My question is: I found used mib3 unit (654035869B). I know that this versions are support wireless carplay. Can i replace my unit with this used one. Is there any need to coding? can i just plug and play ?

I have as well the "K" version without hardware wi-fi support. If there's an easy solution only to add wi-fi module will be better solution.

The unit you want to buy, to my knowledge, has to be unlocked by the seller, each unit when it activates is customized to the VIN, only dealerships can unlock in order to be reinitialized.

You should check the FECs of your unit in the engineer menu if 007b00 and 007a00 are legal, so if they are you can have carplay and AA wired, then it is easy to make it wireless.

In this case, I use the CarlinKit 4.0, which meets all my daily needs perfectly. Previously, I used the OTTOcast U2 but encountered issues with its microphone.
