How to run cable from engine bay to cabin?

Featured Replies

I need to draw a cable from the engine bay (is is even called that on an EV ? 🙃) and the only thing I found so far, is someone who draw the a power cable (for an amplifier) somewhere behind the battery... but he had someone do it for him so he could not be more specific.
He could only send me this picture

I believe it's the red wire.

Does any one here have some more specific or better info/guide/video of how to draw a cable into the cabin?

What are you trying to power?

Can it not go to the fusebox?

External camera... it needs a cable to a small computer box which then has a cable to a monitor.

Follow the wiring loom or any other penetrations through the bulkhead and find one that has space in the grommet for an additional cable, you may even find blanking grommets which can be used, en bref use your eyes!

Yes, that would have been easy on an old car.

Can't see much without removing all sorts of stuff and I want to avoid that 😉

Incredible how packed it is in an engine bay without any engine 🤣

Did you manage to find a hole?
I just did it to mine, to pull a wire for aftermarket stereo. I just poked a hole through the grommit near the pedals (left hand drive), with a thin stiff wire, taped the power cable to the thin wire, lathered it with dishsoap and pulled it through without any fuss

@FlyingHippo no, I have not had the time to do it yet and it's been to cool every time I had a bit of time 🥶 I have Left hand drive aswell... can you maybe take some pictures? Do you have 4x4? Just wondering if that takes up alot of space.

It is really quite easy.
Didnt have to remove anything.

The only tricky part is finding pliers that are long enough to grab the thin wire once you have poked it through from the inside.
