Is a MY2020 Mk iV actually a Mk3 or is it a Mk iV?

Featured Replies

In terms of retrofitting and the like.

Its really confusing. Is the Superb iV PHEV from 2020 a Mk3 PHEV with the same in car tech as a FL Mk3. Then the 2023 Superb is the actual Mk iV in all its varients? Or does it have similar tech to the Octavia Mk iV.

Is the travel assist on steering wheel on pre 2020 superbs?

The main thing I am trying to figure out is if the digital dash requires ODIS remote unlock to add. I have read for the Mk iV Octavias it is a plug and play swap.

HELP!

You are confusing iV (lowercase i) with IV (capital I). IV is the Roman numeral for 4 so the Superb Mk.IV is the new 2024 Mk4 Superb. The iV is used by Skoda to designate the PHEV versions of various models…

Thanks. So what I have is a Mk3 Facelift Superb iV yeah?

So the resources I need to look at for the internal tech are the mk3 fl threads which are Superbs that are 2019 to 2023?

Can’t help you on that one, I’m waiting on delivery of my new MkIV Superb L&K. Don’t have any experience of the Mk3, I’ve been driving a Volvo for the last 6 years…

Congratulations! That will be very nice I imagine. You won't have any need to retrofit anything to that, that's for sure.

However I am still confused. Because I am seeing OEM steering wheels for FL Superbs with part no 3V0419091ADBGW

on threads on this site talking about retrofitting heated steering wheels.

When the actual oem steering wheel in my car is the updated version of this and looks identical to the Octavia steering wheels of the Octavia MkIV range.

Like you I switched allegiances.  After driving Citroëns since 1990 I ordered a Superb estate IV iV L&K in August and collected it 22 December.  Best Christmas present ever.  I love it.  Better quality than the C5X hybrid I had before and the more I learn about the Skoda the more I love it.  Was persuaded to change by the online road tests I read on the Superb estate,  As a firm believer in " you get what you pay for"  I chose the L&K with HUD and retractable towbar.  What a machine.  How you enjoy yours just as much.

It’s been a very long wait, just over 6 mths from order to factory build so I hope it’s worth it. Dealer expects the car to arrive with them around the end of February. I’m a bit worried after reading about the driver assist software problems on this forum and my enthusiasm has wained a little since ordering but I’ll see how it goes…

My Volvo XC40 has been faultless since I bought it in October 2018, only put 27k miles on it. I would have had another but Volvo have really messed the XC40 up IMHO, moved to Android Auto Operating System (AAOS) and I hate all things Android, no two tone colour schemes, no diesel engines, no AWD options, moved to 20” wheels, moved to ‘agency model’ so can’t haggle with a dealer on price anymore. Hence my move back to a Škoda.

Have had no software issues, just over 600 miles in, I believe the issues were before the big system update in September 2024.  Cars built after that no troubles.

John625, How do you find the cabin noise especailly over speed humps and pot holes. I have a petrol L&K and it does seem to thump a bit over them. Good to see another car in the Southampton area.

Not s great problem and we have our share of speed humps and speed pads where we live. Ours is the PHEV version so maybe the thumping great battery stabilises things a bit.
