Headlight unit replacement

Featured Replies

Hi I have a 2017 Yeti SLE Outdoor.  So kind soul has reversed into my car in a car park and broken my passenger side headlight. Is it a relatively easy job to replace and how does one go about it.   Thanks

Front bumper and wing liners have to be removed I think for a facelift car 2013/14 to end 2017...

You might have to do some searching.

I recall having to remove some fasteners to peel back the wing liner but not removing the bumper, that has to be done on the pre facelift model because the foglamps behind the bumper are part of the main headlight, on the facelift they are separate.

When refitting the new headlight the fixing bolts for the lower wheel arch bracket can be re-oriented to make future removal easier, - no need to displace the wheel arch liner.

That's going to be expensive £600 plus.

You are joking surely, I paid about €120 each unit when I changed mine for France

Then yours must be halogen lights, SE L has Bi-Xenon with a lot of control gear in them.

Ok, I understand now, I dodged a bullet there!

Not that I need them but this prompted me to look up the price of replacements for my pre facelift, cheapest here in Spain is €101 so not too bad.

Don't fancy the job of bumper removal.

Mine is the Classic Yeti Elegance with bi-xenons so I dread to think what replacing a pair of light would cost with the labour involved. It does make you wonder where the slogan "Simply Clever" came from.

I think, getting you to pay!!!  😉
