HVAC issue

Featured Replies

Hello good people,

I have a 2010 Skoda Ocatavia Wagon 1.9 Tdi (BXE) and am having some hvac/air con issues. I had a play with some settings in VCDS and seem to have gotten the system into learning mode as indicated by the flashing AC light in the car, the issue is it won't come out of "learning mode" no matter what I try, so far I've disconnected the battery, removed the fuse but it continues to flash.

Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.

I had a similar problem with an ABS function test, it prompted me to drive in ever decreasing circles but then said that the test parameters were not met, after that the ABS light was on all the time and the system did not function.

Rosstech and the internet were of no help, eventually through trial and error I went into the function again but did nothing else and waited, after a very long time it timed out and everything reset to normal.

I would try that or variations of it.

The lesson I learned was not to be so curious and play with things.

I tried doing it again but to no avail, that light just keeps blinking at me, slowly driving me mad it's become my tell tale heart!

If its the same programming nonsense you need to select the function and do no more, just wait, it's a battle of wills!!!!

Well an update, it beat me and I bought a second hand HVAC head unit, got the run in procedure done and now the light no longer blinks at me however, I now have it telling me that the Engine Management Computer is keeping it shut off. The frustrating part is when I run the output test in VCDS it blows cold air.
