Quoted £1400 to fix code E313

Featured Replies

Wanted to know if anyone else has had this fault - E131 Gear selector mechanism?  Dealer quoted just under 1400 quid to fix...

yes i had. its common mistake of all skoda octavia 2020 y. production. it was under warranty so i payed like 0 euros in croatia. new models 2024 are free of those errors

Earlier VAG DSG transmissions were plagued with this problem for several production years. I had one replaced under warranty in my previous Golf. If you're out of warranty you may be at the mercy of dealer procing as I'm not sure it's something an independent VAG specialist would tackle, although it's worth shopping around to find out. If you're not long out of warranty, and given that it's well known problem, it might be worth talking to Skoda direct.

got told today as a goodwill gesture they will cover 70% of it. Not sure if this is a ploy to avoid fully covering under warranty as I was there in person or not, so will ring another dealer local and ask them.

So are you're saying you're still under warranty (i.e. factory warranty)?  If so, I'd be expecting it to be fully covered.

Factory warranty no, but the fact they are offering me money off of it makes me think there is some kind of extend warranty on that specific part, especially as it’s a well known issue 🤔
